When I logged on I noticed it said there were two registered users online, one was me, the other was noted as GoogleBot. You may want to get your tech guy to check that out.

Hi Ralph, Thanks for the info, I will get it checked.

When I log on, usually do once a day, every day, I have the ability to 'hide' my presence unlike the members, so I would be the one 'hidden' as it says, but I've not seen the GoogleBot one. I'm pretty certain I can block it anyways, I'll have a look tomorrow. Grateful thanks, as ever.

This is what Tao has to say concerning the GoogleBot notification you saw:

"The googlebots and similar are little search engine programmes that read the content on each Web page and add them to their respective sites, so googlebot will report the information to Google so that people searching for something that might be on your forum will find it. They're perfectly harmless and actually beneficial for getting new users. It is possible to restrict access if you want to through the Group Permissions options in the ACP.

Given that interesting info and that we want to attract, or have new members find us, I'll let it run for a while and see where it goes. We had this on our company computer system when I was at work and given time we could see where the new enquiries were originating from and via what system and it was pretty useful, as I recall. 

I can do that on here with what programs are contained 'behind the scenes'.
